Meet Apple Vision Pro: Apple’s first spatial computer

It’s been a year since the rumors spread about an Apple Vision Pro, at the WORLDWIDE DEVELOPERS CONFERENCE (WWDC) on June 5th, 2023 Apple announced this mixed reality headset, and finally here’s the result. The ski goggle resembling Vision Pro is the first Apple headset that enables human-computer interaction to the physical world in a natural way by SPATIAL COMPUTING.

A VR/AR headset fitted on your face, in which the real world and digital media are integrated properly. The front part of the headset is formed in a three-dimensional way for a better experience and the glass frame is connected to a recycled custom aluminium alloy frame also the soft knitted headband comes with a variable range of sizes, providing maximum comfort.

The features that make Apple Vision Pro Brilliant

Display:

The front part and display is shaped like a ski goggle. Having two displays in it that are completely ARSENIC FREE.

The external screen enables the user’s eyes to be seen while approaching others through a feature named “EYESIGHT”.  The display comes with an OLED panel. 

These custom 3D lenses by the well-known lens Manufacturer ZEISS, together packed with 23 million pixels which is impressively better and more than a 4k TV  having a refresh rate of 90hz and 100hz. Videos on the device are supported by, MV- HEVC, HEVC, H.264, HDR with Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.

The Apple Vision Pro has flicker sensor, 4 eye tracking cameras, 6 World facing high-resolution cameras that enable gesture tracking authorisation for multi-tasking features that virtually monitor the effects on hand movements by controlling the panel and other apps running in the background.

Also, optic ID is available in the Vision Pro. 

Iris based biometric authentication has been implemented in the newest device of the California-based company.  End-to-end encryption is done to secure the optic ID data of users that is only accessible to the secure enclaved processor and also the apps in Apple store.

 A Lider scanner is also present in the device that emits millions of pulses per second that comes back to it measuring the distance of any object using light velocity to create 3D models of real world.

Battery:

Having a corded battery system the Apple Vision Pro weighs 600-650g (21.2 – 22.9 ounces) thus, claimed to solve the issues related to weight or discomforts on prolonged uses. This makes the new Apple Vision Pro remarkably acceptable in the competition. Recycled aluminum alloy is used for the battery enclosure process

Upon full charging, can be used up to 2 hours of general use and video watching upto 2.5 hours also can be used while charging. The weight varies depending on the configuration and size of the headband.

Audio:

In the device the sound system is supported by DOLBY ATOMS and lossless audio features are also implemented.

Each audio pads there are in built earbuds (2nd generation) comes with magsafe charging case (USB – C) that’s easily accessible to the user who doesn’t like to have extra headphone in such 3D GLASSES.

Two individually amplified drivers have been assembled in each audio pad to enhance it’s personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. It Has 6 mic system for cancellation of the audio disturbances during any voice assistance or during calls.

Operating system:

The APPLE VISION PRO runs on a new Apple operating system VisionOs , that’s similar to the iPadOS interface and can bring the continuity of Apple ecosystem to the headset. There is a stereoscopic 3D main camera system that can capture spatial photos and videos with it’s specially designed 6.5 stereo megapixels. 

The Apple M2 chip is inside the headset for enhanced multitasking and smooth gesture tracking systems. It has 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. Also, Apple has introduced it’s newest R1 chip that contains 256GB/S memory bandwidth.
